Two weeks since the bite. Two weeks of catching falling fire escapes, of waking up on the ceiling, of pretending nothing was different.
"Zach. Whatever this is — these powers, these choices — remember. With great power, there must also come great responsibility."
He didn't listen. Not that night. He let the man with the duffel bag run right past him.

Uncle Benny was gone. And Zachary Silva understood — finally — what the bite had cost him.
