The Shadow Spider
ARC SEVEN · AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, PART 2. The suit comes back. The name comes with it. And for the first time, Doom turns his head.

"Rules. One: we don't kill. Two: we let go when the fight's done. Three: I name us, not you."
"…name. us."

"Tell the Avengers — Spider's down. Tell 'em the SHADOW SPIDER is up."

"…you. Doom SEES you now, child. Good. Doom prefers his insects with teeth."
He fought for six hours. He held a line on the FDR with Cap and Storm and a frost giant nobody had introduced him to. The black suit kept his ribs in place. The black suit caught a Doombot fist that would have ended him.

"Shadow Spider — listen to me. Doom is folding the universes. Anyone we lose tonight is gone EVERYWHERE. Get the civilians off the island. NOW."
He got 8,114 people off Roosevelt Island. The suit purred the whole time. Pleased. Useful. Patient.
Then the sky tore one more time. And the world Zachary knew — folded shut.
